Where the extra cost usually comes from.
- A separate callout fee for every different trade, instead of one visit that covers the mix.
- An "estimate visit" that gets charged even before any work starts.
- A vague quote that grows once the tradesperson is already on site.
- Redoing DIY snagging attempts that went wrong the first time.
A fixed, published deposit removes the first three. What it does not remove is honesty about scope — if the job needs more than four hours, that goes on a written quotation you can accept or decline.

UK market rate for skirting and architrave making-good is priced per linear metre, not per m² of floor — a straight run is quicker than corners, doorways and uneven walls. This rate covers skirting/architrave only: a typical room's run (12–16 linear metres ≈ £220–290) plus easing or making good one or two doors in the same room fits the £420 visit below. Several rooms, more doors, or a full-house second-fix usually needs more than 4 hours — request a quote first.

Decoration and wall finishing£380.00
£380 for decoration and wall finishing at the UK address you supply. That is a deposit for one visit of up to 4 hours of preparation and decoration on the walls or ceilings you described. It is credited in full against that job.

UK market rate for prepared wall/ceiling decoration (two coats, standard trade paint) is genuinely priced per m² — this is a real, comparable unit for this job. Any remaining amount = quoted extra labour + quoted extra materials. The deposit you already paid is credited in full and is not charged again. If you do not accept a later quotation, remaining amount = £0.
If more work is needed after the included visit, we send a written quotation first. It shows the hourly rate, estimated extra hours and any materials. Extra work starts only if you accept that quotation.
A visit date is agreed in writing after payment, subject to access and a UK postcode we can reasonably serve. Payment does not reserve a clock time on the day you pay.

- Why is it cheaper than calling separate tradespeople?
- This page does not claim a fixed saving for every job — it depends what you'd otherwise book. What it removes is multiple callout fees and an upfront estimate charge, by covering a mixed punch-list in one visit with the price published before you pay.
- When is the visit?
- After payment we agree a date in writing. Paying today does not book a calendar slot by itself.
- How do I cancel?
- You have 14 days from the day after PayPal captures the payment, unless the visit has already been fully carried out at your request. Cancellation and refunds.
