Cancellation and refunds
These terms apply to finishing retainers paid on this website to BUILD IT DEVELOPMENT LIMITED, company number 07562253. Quote requests that are not paid are not contracts for services and can be ignored without a cancellation form.
What you bought
Each PayPal payment is a deposit for one named finish need. The deposit is credited in full. It buys one included site attendance of up to 4 hours of finishing labour in that scope, at the UK address you supplied, plus a written note of any remaining work. A visit date is agreed in writing after payment, subject to access and a UK postcode we can reasonably serve. Payment does not reserve a clock time on the day you pay.
- Snagging and completion close-out — £350.00. £350 for snagging and completion close-out at the UK address you supply. That is a deposit for one visit of up to 4 hours on the outstanding completion items you listed. It is credited in full against that job.
- Joinery and second-fix finishing — £420.00. £420 for joinery and second-fix finishing at the UK address you supply. That is a deposit for one visit of up to 4 hours around doors, frames and timber edges. It is credited in full against that job.
- Decoration and wall finishing — £380.00. £380 for decoration and wall finishing at the UK address you supply. That is a deposit for one visit of up to 4 hours of preparation and decoration on the walls or ceilings you described. It is credited in full against that job.
- Handover making-good — £320.00. £320 for handover making-good at the UK address you supply. That is a deposit for one visit of up to 4 hours of punch-list making-good before keys, a tenancy or sale photographs. It is credited in full against that job.
Any remaining amount = quoted extra labour + quoted extra materials. The deposit you already paid is credited in full and is not charged again. If you do not accept a later quotation, remaining amount = £0.
If more work is needed after the included visit, we send a written quotation first. It shows the hourly rate, estimated extra hours and any materials. Extra work starts only if you accept that quotation.
The service starts when we begin the included attendance at the address you gave, or when we start the written remaining-works note if attendance cannot proceed. Paying on PayPal does not itself start the service and does not book a calendar date.
Your 14-day right to cancel
For a retainer bought at a distance you may cancel within 14 days, starting the day after PayPal captures the payment. You do not have to give a reason.
How to cancel: send a clear statement to info@builditdevelopment.com, or post it to The Mount, Farleigh Road, Cliddesden, Basingstoke, Hampshire, RG25 2JL, United Kingdom, or use the standard form below. The deadline is met if you send the notice before the 14 days end.
When the retainer is refunded
If you cancel before we start the service, we refund the retainer in full. The refund is made through PayPal to the same funding source, within 14 days of the day we receive your cancellation notice. The payment record is in your PayPal account.
If you asked us to start during the cooling-off period and we have started but not finished, we refund the retainer minus a reasonable amount for the labour already supplied (pro rata against the included 4 hours). If you asked us to start and the included attendance is fully performed during the cooling-off period, you lose the right to cancel that service and the retainer is not refunded.
If we cannot reasonably attend the UK postcode you gave, or we decline the work as outside finishing, we refund the retainer in full.
When you lose the right to cancel
You lose the statutory right to cancel if, during the cooling-off period, you asked us to start, we fully performed the included attendance, and you acknowledged that you would lose the right once the service was fully performed. Extra works you later accept in a written quotation are a separate agreement; they are not started until you accept that quotation.
